Itinerary
Transfer & Activity: Early morning pick-up from your hotel or train terminal. Drive along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway into Tsavo East, entering through the Voi or Bachuma gate. Embark on a game drive across the vast savannah, tracking the iconic red-dust elephants, lions, and the Yatta Plateau, before checking into your lodge for dinner.
Activity: Spend the day exploring Tsavo's core wildlife hotspots. Visit Aruba Dam to watch herds of animals congregate to drink, and check out Mudanda Rock where wildlife gathers below a towering ridge. Enjoy sundowners over the expansive wilderness.
Transfer & Activity: After an early breakfast, drive northwest toward Amboseli National Park (approx. 4–5 hours via scenic countryside routes). Arrive in time for a late afternoon game drive with Mount Kilimanjaro’s peak emerging through the clouds, providing a dramatic backdrop for photography. Check-in at your Amboseli tented camp.
Activity: Full day in Amboseli. Explore the swamplands where huge elephant families feed alongside hippos and prolific birdlife. Climb Observation Hill for a panoramic view of the entire park basin and marsh networks below. Optional Maasai cultural village visit in the evening.
Transfer & Activity: Depart Amboseli after breakfast, making our way down toward the coast via the Emali-Tsavo link or catching the Madaraka Express SGR train connection from Voi/Emali depending on routing preference. Arrive at your beach resort on the Mombasa North Coast or Diani Beach by late afternoon. Check-in and feel the warm Indian Ocean breeze.
Activity: A full day at leisure on the coast. Option to relax under palm trees by the pool/beach, take a dhow excursion to Wasini Island for dolphin spotting, or explore historic Fort Jesus and the winding alleys of Mombasa Old Town.
Transfer & Activity: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast overlooking the ocean. Spend your final morning collecting shells or shopping for local crafts before transfer to Moi International Airport (MBA) or the SGR terminus for your journey back to Nairobi.
